Meet the parents: Mr & Mrs Oliver senior star in Kallo ad

Not only is Jamie Oliver ever present on our TV screens, but now his parents are getting in on the publicity act.

Kallo Foods has teamed up with Trevor and Sally Oliver who are appearing in the company’s press and digital adverts for its repackaged range of organic stock cubes. The new advertising campaign has the tagline ‘Good Cooks Come From Great Stock’ and aims to make the product synonymous with good, home-cooked food. Kallo also invited the couple, who own The Cricketers in Clavering, to prepare three exclusive recipes for its website.

    I think it is a shame; Kallo has been a trustworthy product especially for coeliacs. Changing the packaging and linking it to celebrity Jamie Oliver just ‘belittles’ the stock cubes. There is an increasing distrust of celebrity backed products, and a lot of people will avoid buying them if they seem to be linked to celebrity cooks.
    Will the stock cubes still be guaranteed gluten-free?
