More Than Meat aims to tap UK meat-reducer market

In a bid to tap into the vegan, vegetarian and meat reducer sector, the More than Meat brand of plant-based meals and snacks has launched, positioned as ‘revolutionary healthy food’.

Using a blend of plant proteins and wholefoods which are high in protein, have no cholesterol and are free from added fats, eggs, dairy and meat, the products have been created by company founder Barry Honeycombe and are aimed at those looking for meat-free convenience foods that aren’t high in fat, salt and sugar.

The range is handmade in a kitchen environment and includes Smoked Apple & Sage Sausage Rolls, Lorne Sausage Patties, Lamb Casserole
and Burgers. Two new burgers will also shortly be added to the range: Jerk Burger and Great BRITish Burger.

“There is a huge opportunity in the UK for quality, ingredient-led, tasty food that caters to the growing number of people who want to reduce their intake of meat,” commented Honeycombe. “Our absolute focus is on flavour … we use creamy cannellini beans in our Classic More Than Beef Burgers; fresh, whole apples in our More Than Meat Smoked Apple & Sage Sausage Rolls, and root vegetables and butter beans in our More Than Meat Lamb Casserole. Taste and quality is what sets us apart.”
