Preston-based natural health specialist Natures Aid has been purchased by Thornton & Ross Ltd.

Established in 1982 by Lynn Lord, David Lord and Paul Marshall, Natures Aid has become one of the leading VMS and herbal product manufacturers in the UK health food sector and has built up a substantial international business.

Natures Aid’s director of commerce, Chris Morrey, commented on the sale, saying that the new ownership by Thornton & Ross would bring new exciting opportunities to Natures Aid through new product development and strengthening the brand in health food stores, as well as aiding in the expansion of its international business.

“Natures Aid has grown its International sales significantly over the past two to three years and now supply the Natures Aid brand to over 40 countries worldwide which makes the acquisition a perfect fit with Thornton & Ross Ltd which supplies OTC medicines to over 80 countries,” added Morrey.

Founded in 1922, Thornton & Ross Ltd is one of the largest over-the-counter pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK. Based in Huddersfield, it manufactures consumer and prescription medical products including Covonia, Hedrin, Care, Cetraben, Movelat, Radian B and Setlers and Zoflora.
