The Better Food Co gets stuck into Organic September

Bristol-based The Better Food Company is putting on a whole series of events – both free and ticketed – running throughout Organic September.

Starting with the Bristol launch on 3 September, there will be a screening of the acclaimed food documentary GMO OMG at the Watershed followed by a Q&A with Lawrence Woodward of Beyond GM and director of the Organic Research Centre; the Soil Association’s Lee Holdstock; and Better Food founder Phil Haughton.

On 4 September there is a tasty tea party held in partnership with Pukka Herbs, with tea tasting with a difference and organic cakes and biscuits from Better Food’s master bakers.

The Better Food Road Trip is taking place on 5 September – a lively tour of into the West Country to visit some of the retailer’s local organic suppliers. The day includes a visit to Hobbs House Bakery, taking in a bakery demo and lunch with Tom Herbert; a tour of the cheese-making process at The Bath Soft Cheese Company; and a tour of The Community Farm.

Other events include a talk on organic produce and detoxification with naturopathic nutritionist Jelena Deruka from CNM; a how to make an organic bath bomb session with Happy Holistics; and Dr Tom Walker on how we may avoid hereditary illness.
