UK baby food brand Ella’s Kitchen has added to its kids’ organic finger foods selection with Mini Puffs, Munchy Fingers and Puff Pops.

The new Ella’s Kitchen products are designed to help children develop their hand-eye coordination and motor skills through fun, sensory food play at mealtimes, encouraging them to explore new tastes and textures and get hands-on with their food.

Munchy Fingers are suitable for babies from nine months and come in Mixed Herb and Sweetcorn + Paprika varieties. These crunchy fingers aim to help little ones learn how to hold and eat flat shapes, giving tiny fingers more control over their grip. Made with a combination of rice, maize and chickpeas they are great with dips, spreads and on the go.

Ella’s Kitchen Mini Puffs in Carrot + Parsnip and Strawberry + Banana and Puff Pops in Peas + Sweetcorn are both made with organic maize and specifically designed to aid development of the finger and thumb ‘pincer’ grip so little fingers can learn how to pick up smaller pieces of food. Both are suitable for those aged 10 months and over.

“Our Mission at Ella’s Kitchen is to improve children’s lives through developing healthy relationships with food and we’re always looking at new and exciting, innovative ways to help do this,” explains Ella’s Kitchen CEO Mark Cuddigan. “Every weaning journey is about more than just filling tiny tums – it’s about creating moments for little ones to enjoy and explore the world around them. These sensory food experiences are really important in helping little ones learn new skills and develop positive experiences at mealtimes, from the very first mouthful. We hope that these exciting new additions to our Finger Foods family will allow little ones to experience lots of new tastes and textures, while learning great hand-eye coordination and motor skills through fun play at mealtimes.”

To celebrate the launch, the brand has teamed up with popstar and mum Frankie Bridge (pictured) to produce the ‘world’s first eat along book’, The Munchy Trunks, to help children develop hand-eye coordination skills through sensory play. All proceeds from physical book sales will be donated to Flavour School, a UK charity providing sensory food education to nurseries and schools across the country.

All of Ella’s Kitchen’s pouches, finger food bags + wrappers are recyclable via EllaCycle (a nationwide recycling solution for all baby food packaging), in partnership with recycling experts, TerraCycle.
