Going for gold

Morocco Gold is a single-estate, extra virgin olive oil grown and pressed in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains and brought to the UK market by a British-Moroccan business partnership.

The first Moroccan extra virgin olive oil on the UK market, it is fully traceable and rigorously tested throughout production to guarantee provenance, authenticity and extra virgin quality.

The oil has a subtle yet distinctive green fruitiness, says the brand, which comes from the picholine olive. It has a fresh and vibrant flavour with a hint of herbs and a clean light finish. The bottle has gold embossing to stand out on shelf and incorporates a tamperproof cap and pourer insert.

Nestling in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, the Beni-Mellal region, about 200km from Marrakesh, benefits from a unique microclimate ideal for olive cultivation.

Morocco Gold olives are grown using only natural, traditional methods and are hand-picked early in the season when the fruit is young, then cold-pressed within 24 hours of harvest. The oil is pressed by a local cooperative which actively supports schemes to create employment for women in agriculture which helps reduce family poverty.
