Paul Moore announces changes at the OTB

In his spring ‘member news’ bulletin circulated on 22 March, Paul Moore CEO of the Organic Trade Board (OTB), has announced two management changes within the organization.

Opening his written address to members with the news that Adrian Blackshaw has resigned his position as director and chairman, Moore cited changes in Blackshaw’s personal life as the reason for him taking ‘a step back from his role’.

“In addition,” Moore continues, “Adam Wakeley has also resigned as a director of the OTB in order to engage in new challenges.”

“I’d like to thank both Adrian and Adam for their contributions to the development of the sector through their work and input within the framework of the Organic Trade Board.”

Moving forward, says Moore, the OTB must ‘maintain its legal responsibilities’ as a non-profit trade organization, and ‘fulfil the criteria relating to the delivery of the EU marketing programme and other strategic objectives in the OTB’s Strategy Plan’. As such, Martin Sawyer, Soil Association Certification, and Roger Kerr, Organic Farmers & Growers, have been appointed by the Strategic Advisory Board as directors ‘to ensure proper legal governance and proprietary oversight of the organization’.

I would like to thank both individuals for stepping into these roles as we pursue our stated purpose of bringing the efforts of the organic industry together

“I would like to thank both individuals for stepping into these roles as we pursue our stated purpose of bringing the efforts of the organic industry together so we can collectively grow organic sales to 10% market share,” adds Moore.

The Strategic Advisory Board – which also comprises Adrian Carne, Yeo Valley; Hannah Shipton, Abel and Cole; Mark Haynes, G’s Fresh Produce; and Tim Field, Daylesford – is due to meet on 20 April to discuss ‘further changes and proposals relating to the governance, representation and work of the OTB’.
