A more sustainable future for Good Bubble

Manchester-based natural and organic baby care brand Good Bubble has announced that it is swapping to sustainable, recycled plastic packaging as part of the brand’s sustainability mission to cut its carbon footprint in half by 2020.

The new post consumer recycled (PCR) packaging will contain 50% recycled plastic.

“Reducing our use of virgin plastic is a natural progression for us and something we’ve been wanting to do for a long time,” explains Good Bubble founder, Amy Wordsworth. “We’re so happy we’ve been able to make this happen. Not much will change in terms of the way our packaging looks on shelf but our carbon footprint will be massively reduced. There’s a lot more to do and we aren’t going to stop until we totally eliminate our virgin plastic but this is a huge step in the right direction.”

Speaking of the brand’s switch, Deborah Meaden, who invested £60,000 in the brand on Dragons’ Den, comments: “Moving to recycled plastic was the next logical step for Good Bubble. Never has it been more important for brands to take responsibility for their packaging; from the materials that are used, to the way it is manufactured and how the packaging is disposed or reused afterwards. It is simply not enough to stick a recycling logo on a bottle. ‘Kindness’ is at the heart of Good Bubble’s brand values not just with their gentle formulations but also their attitude to the planet and I am proud to be a part of this movement.”
