Described as a ‘no BS capsule collection’, start-up brand Faace is launching a trio of natural face masks in February, designed to simplify skincare.

The collection of ‘say-what-you-see masks’ comprise Period faace, Tired faace and Sweaty face and has been created for skin in need of some care during those times when consumers can be least bothered to provide it.

Period faace is for shiny or dry skin and aims to rebalance the skin, keeping it clean and clear. Hyaluronic acid helps skin retain moisture, green tea soothes inflammation and improves the appearance of sun damage, and lavender has antiseptic and hormone-balancing properties. Antiseptic clary sage is included in the formulation, as are zinc to normalize sebum production and prevent spots, and white willow to provide salicin, encouraging cell renewal.

Tired faace has been created for dull skin which lacks in radiance. The formula incorporates caffeine to soothe inflammation, aloe vera for its healing and moisturizing properties, and vegetable glycerin to draw water from the air and lock it into the epidermis. Vitamin C helps to add radiance and fight free radicals, while lactic acid gently exfoliates and frankincense strengthens the skin to keep it elastic. Finally, pomegranate and rosehip provide a helping of natural vitamin A to boost collagen.

Sweaty face is formulated as a skin detox for those who feel they’re constantly perspiring from workouts, work or weather changes. The mask uses argan oil to moisturize and soothe, grapefruit to revitalize the senses and load the skin with vitamin C, and antioxidants to fight inflammation. Bergamot helps reduce spots on sensitive skin that overreacts to astringent ingredients; galbanum tones and rejuvenates, giving overworked skin a deep clean; and patchouli boosts skin cell activity.

“I needed a product that I could slap on and leave to do its work,” explains brand founder Jasmine Wicks-Stephens, who has 13 years of working in the beauty industry. “I wanted it to smell good enough to give me a moment of light relief amongst the madness of being a full-time working mum and I wanted it to be super low maintenance to boot. And affordable. Which is how I came up with Faace. Fuss-free, does-what-it-says-on-the-bottle beauty. For every mask sold, one pack of period products will be donated to girls and women who have no access to them through the Hey Girls initiative.

Faace is made in the UK, is vegan, cruelty free and uses ethically sourced ingredients. The masks come in recyclable packaging that is box- and cellophane-free.
