Top ten vegan-friendly cities named (and London isn’t one of them)

vegan friendly

Natural Products News’ hometown, Brighton, takes top slot in a new ranking of the UK’s most vegan-friendly cities. The nation’s capital, however, fails to make the top ten.

The top ten has been unveiled on the eve of World Vegan Day (November 1) by holiday lettings specialist Holidu. The company used data collected by the vegan nutrition website Happy Cow to create its rankings, which were based on the number of vegan restaurants and vegetarian restaurants with vegan options, weighed against the population size in each city.

Here’s the top ten:

1 Brighton: 14.82 restaurants per 100,000 people

2 Leicester: 11.41 restaurants per 100,000 people

3 Norwich: 8.16 restaurants per 100,000 people

4 Newcastle: 7.07 restaurants per 100,000 people

5 Bristol: 6.17 restaurants per 100,000 people

6 Cardiff: 5.72 restaurants per 100,000 people

7 Edinburgh: 5.53 restaurants per 100,000 people

8 Glasgow: 5.07 restaurants per 100,000 people

9 Manchester: 4.37 restaurants per 100,000 people

10 Sheffield: 4.06 restaurants per 100,000 people
