Natural alternative to hyaluronic acid developed by natural wellbeing company, Cosy Cottage Soap

British skincare brand Cosy Cottage Soap has released an all natural Aloin Regenerative Face Mask to join its range of natural high-performance skincare products. The mask is made with aloe vera and sustainably sourced, Yorkshire-grown Sea kelp, which is renowned for its anti-inflammatory, moisturising and regenerative properties.

Cosy Cottage Soap bills aloin as more beneficial than the popular, skin-plumping wunderkind, hyaluronic acid. Chemists suggest that synthesised hyaluronic acid is only beneficial to skin’s surface and long-term use could draw hydration away from the deeper layers of skin exacerbating dryness in the longer term*.

“So-called miracle ingredients fall in and out of fashion all the time, only for their claims frequently to be debunked later. This is science-washing and confusing for consumers. Few synthetic skincare miracle-workers stand the test of time. Hyaluronic acid is currently enjoying the limelight, however, much better alternatives can be found in nature, which could save consumers money and be kinder to their skin and the planet.” says Clara Challoner Walker, founder of Cosy Cottage Soap.

The skincare range was inspired by brand founder and qualified chemist Challoner Walker’s own health journey, with input from medical professionals and beauticians. She became concerned about the harmful and carcinogenic ingredients found in most commercially produced skincare products while recovering from breast cancer.

“When I was undergoing treatment for breast cancer, I became aware of the ingredients I needed to avoid including parabens, which can wreak havoc on the endocrine system. When you’re dealing with health issues, a spa treatment would feel like a lovely pick-me-up, however concerns over interference with medication and irritating already sensitive skin deters many people.” Clara continues.

Named the Best Sensitive Skincare Brand 2023 by The British Made Awards, Cosy Cottage Soap’s new moisturising face mask has already been praised by sufferers of skin conditions including eczema and psoriasis. It joins the brand’s wider range of skincare including a Chamomile Make Up Remover; Shea Butter Cleanser; Jojoba & Geranium Facial Scrub; a Rosehip & Raspberry Leaf Facial Serum and a Honey & Rosehip Oil Face Cream.

The full skincare range is available to buy from and natural spa-style treatments and experiences are available in Cosy Cottage Soap’s Malton store.
