A recent survey of 2,000 people by Opinion Health on behalf of Pukka Herbs has found that 43% have tried alternative medicine/herbal remedies.

The most common ailments that that they were seeking to address being: joint pain, sleep problems and energy levels.

The research also found that:

  • 70% of respondents would like their healthcare practitioner to recommend natural medicine alongside pharmaceuticals.
  • one in five of 25-to-34 year olds say they consume a herbal remedy rather than a pharmaceutical medication when they feel run down. Conversely, one in six over 55-year-olds are more likely to take herbal medicine, despite their heavy reliance on prescription drugs, with over a third found taking pharmaceutical medication every day.
  • 64% feel un-informed about the potential benefits of alternative medicine

“It’s wonderful to see that people are taking an interest in herbal medicine and looking to use these incredible traditional remedies to manage their health concerns in a more holistic and natural way,” says Sebastian Pole, co-founder of Pukka Herbs.
