Organic supermarket As Nature Intended is set to open a sixth London store this Autumn.

The 3,300 sq ft Marble Arch store will be the retailer’s biggest yet and will “pick up where our Spitalfields store left off”, says MD Jeff Martin.

“Spitalfields – which opened in Spring 2014 – has an industrial, slightly edgy feel to it. Marble Arch will be a more refined store, in keeping with its West End location and proximity to Mayfair and Marylebone. It will also include some new features such as a charcuterie – where we expect to have a high percentage of organic – and cheese counter. We’ll also have training and lecture rooms.”

Martin says he has been sizing up the area for a while. “It’s very close to where I live, so I know it well. It’s relatively untapped for organic and has amazing potential. Daylesford, who opened in Marylebone recently, have seen that – but whereas they are essentially a café and farm shop, our new store will be very much a ‘whole shop’ proposition, offering the full range of organic, Fairtrade and free-from across fresh, grocery and beauty.”

Martin says that As Nature Intended is currently seeing double figure growth in all its five existing stores. “We’re working very hard to achieve that, but it’s very pleasing to see and we’re really excited about adding a new store and area to the mix.”
