Health matters announces new organic beauty outlet

Marion Allen, the woman behind the health matters brand, is opening a new store dedicated entirely to organic beauty.

The 500 square foot Creme de Beauté store will open in Maidstone’s Royal Star Arcade on October 1.

“We’re specialising in organic skincare and trying to educate people about the chemicals that they put on their skin every day,” says Allen.

The store will have a boutique feel and carry well-known organic brands including Green People, Suki, JASON, Weleda and Faith in Nature.

“We believe we should have a wide range of price points to ensure that no-one is excluded’ she adds.

“Because of this not all the products will be 100 per cent organic, but we want to offer products that have an everyday price point as well as more sophisticated brands.”

Allen says that she’s been considering the idea since she identified organic beauty as a growth area in her three existing stores – but waited until May 2011, when a spare unit became available in the arcade, before making her move.

Three-quarters of stock for the opening will come from existing health matters stores, where it will be replaced with sports nutrition products.

Special opening day offers include BOGOFs on many lines and a third off all Comvita products.
