The Soil Association Certification revealed on Wednesday 28th May the finalists for the 2025 BOOM (Best of Organic Market) Awards, in partnership with Ocado Retail. The prestigious awards shine a spotlight on the brands, organisations and individuals driving the UK’s thriving organic movement.

This year’s awards drew over 400 entries, with judges – including a panel of respected industry experts – undertaking a rigorous blind-tasting and review process to whittle the field down to 126 finalists. The shortlist spans the entire organic sector, from food and drink to beauty, wellbeing, fashion and textiles. It also includes six ‘Organic For All’ categories recognising initiatives making organic more inclusive and accessible.

The announcement comes at a buoyant time for the UK organic sector. According to the Soil Association Certification’s Organic Market Report 2025, the market grew by 7.3% in 2024, reaching a value of £3.7 billion – nearly double its size in 2014. The positive trend has continued into 2025, with NIQ data showing double-digit value growth of 10% in the first quarter and unit sales up 4.8% over 12 weeks. Over the full year to 22 March 2025, the market achieved 8.9% value growth and 5.3% unit growth.

With sustainability and health high on the agenda for many shoppers – particularly Gen Z – organic continues to resonate. Seven in 10 shoppers say they intentionally purchase organic food and drink.

Georgia Phillips, Commercial & Marketing Director at Soil Association Certification, said:

“We are delighted to announce the finalists and celebrate some of the best of organic products on the market, all produced in a way that works with nature, not against it. The judges and I were so inspired by each of the Organic For All entrants with these groups, organisations and individuals making a real difference in their communities. All of the finalists deserve recognition for their incredible work.”

Ocado Retail, the headline sponsor, will present the Ocado Roots Award at the ceremony – an accolade that comes with access to its challenger brand accelerator programme.

Simon Hinks, Product Director for Ocado Retail, added:

“Partnering with Soil Association Certification is invaluable for Ocado as we work to grow the organic market and support the future of sustainable food production.

As a retailer that over-trades in organic, we recognise the importance of securing a robust and growing pool of organic suppliers.

We would like to extend our congratulations to all the finalists of this year’s BOOM Awards. We were impressed by the calibre of entrants to the Ocado Roots award and look forward to revealing the winner on the night!”

The winners will be revealed at a ceremony hosted by TV personality Andy Clarke on Thursday 10 July 2025, at Paintworks in Bristol.
