Starpowa claims manuka honey first

Vegan gummy company Starpowa has created Ouka Manuka Honey (525MGO monofloral) Gummies in what it says is a world first in the supplement industry.

Designed for easy ingestion, each honey and orange-flavoured gummy contains manuka honey 525MGO+ monofloral and is infused with a blend of vitamins and minerals including vitamin C, D, B12 and zinc to boost energy levels, support and strengthen the immune system and encourage healthy hair and skin.

The gummies, which contain less than 2g of sugar per serving and are naturally sweetened with plant extracts, are made using monofloral manuka honey sustainably harvested from New Zealand.

“We are the world’s first gummy to contain 100% 525MGO+ Monofloral Manuka Honey,” explains brand founder Johnny Gallagher. “Our aim is to have the number one alternative to regular manuka honey in a jar. We’re proud to see Ouka having made £100,000 worth of sales in the first week and selling out in Holland & Barrett in one day online.”

To protect future supply, the brand’s supply chain has  planted 360,000 manuka blush seedlings and is rewilding over 4,000 acres of former farmland with flowering manuka and beehives. It is also donating 10p from every bottle of Ouka sold to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust, which is on a mission to increase the number and distribution of bumblebees.

Every Starpowa product is manufactured in the UK using 100% renewable eco-energy.
