Bite UK has introduced a range of sprouted flours under its Spiffing brand.

The three flours are available in 500g bags and comprise: Spiffing Sprouted Wheat Flour; Sprouted Wholemeal Spelt Flour; and Sprouted Buckwheat Flour.

The grain is soaked for 24 hours and maintained at a temperature of 20° for four to five days to complete the spouting process. The grain and the sprout is then dried, heat-treated and milled. Sprouted flour is easily digestible, rapidly absorbed and offer increased bioavailability of key nutrients including vitamins B, C, folate, fibre, essential amino acids and antioxidants. The company’s facility is grade A BRC accredited and the process is fully controlled.

The grain is Jason Bull, MD of Bite UK said; “We have witnessed a huge appetite for sprouted from British consumers. It turns bread back into the healthy staple that it should be. It brings together two exciting trends, our love of baking and our desire to eat healthily. The fact that is also easily digestible will put bread back on the table for healthy eaters.”

Spiffing also offers a range of organic flours and rice.
