The UK’s first chilled gluten-free savoury pastry range has been launched by Riverside Bakery in Nottingham.

The Too Good To Be Gluten Free NO.G range is registered by Coeliac UK and includes Slow Cooked Beef & Mushroom Pie, Butternut, Spinach & Emmental Pie, Pepperoni Pizza, Cheese & Tomato Topped Frittata, Mini Cheese & Bacon Souffles, Chocolate & Morello Cherry Tart and Blueberry & Vanilla Cheesecake.

Explaining the reason behind the launch, brand manager Sam Benjamin said: “An increasing number of people can’t eat gluten and some of the things they really miss are pastry and pizza dough.”

He added that adopting a gluten-free lifestyle shouldn’t mean compromising on quality, flavour or choice. “Our expert chefs have a real passion for creating great-tasting gluten-free food where premium ingredients are key,” he says. “The secret is all in the pastry. We’ve spent over a year developing a special unique gluten-free pastry that tastes wonderful.”
