Scottish beauty and gifting brand Seilich has launched into retail with its first major listings including the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, Bayley & Sage and Wolf & Badger’s Flagship London store.

The brand’s product offer spans skincare, room mists and loose leaf teas, all based on handpicked botanicals from its own wildflower meadows in the Lothians.

The meadow-grown skincare collection includes Peppermint Cleansing Gel, Wild Carrot and Chamomile Cleansing Lotion, Nettle Exfoliating Toner, Wild Rose and Mallow Moisturising Lotion, Wild Carrot and Sea Buckthorn Moisturising Lotion and Botanical Lip Balm; while the tea offer spans Meadow Tea, Reviving Blend (peppermint, nettle and cornflower), Calming Blend (chamomile, lemon balm, rose petals) as well as pure blends of Peppermint, Chamomile and Lemon Balm.

It’s a really exciting time for us and we look forward to working with more retailers over the coming years

“I am thrilled to see my products on the shelves at these prestigious stores,” remarks Sally Gouldstone, who founded the brand in 2019. ”Launching into retail has been our ambition for a long time, however growing our own ingredients meant that we had to wait several years for our meadow to establish first; our meadow is now the size of four-and-a-half football pitches, meaning that we have enough ingredients to fulfil large orders year-round! It’s a really exciting time for us and we look forward to working with more retailers over the coming years in both the skincare and gifting sectors.”

The latest launch from Seilich – the only Wildlife Friendly certified company in the UK – is Natures Secret Serum, a formulation based on Myrica gale (aka sweet gale or bog myrtle) – an aromatic shrub that grows in wet and wild places in the Highlands.

Gouldstone explains how it came into being: “Last summer we headed out to the wilds of Scotland to collect Myrica gale, before bringing it back to the workshop where we spent the next few months experimenting; distilling, infusing and macerating until we were finally happy we’d made the most perfect extract. We named the serum Nature’s Secret as we really feel this plant is one of nature’s finest secrets, being known for its amazing ability to treat a whole range of skin concerns from dry, sensitive, hormonal to ageing skin, although its rarely used in the skincare industry as it’s difficult to grow on a large scale.”
