The B Corp Beauty Coalition has launched its B Beauty Navigator – its ‘first significant contribution to the beauty industry’ – to help companies and consumers make the best choices when it comes to sustainability.

The B Beauty Navigator is the first output of three coalition working groups established in 2022 to collectively raise sustainability standards across the beauty industry and is an openly available library of impartial advice and guidance ‘to help to debunk the greenwash jargon around sustainable claims, packaging solutions and ingredient sourcing’.

The free to access tool is opensource and shares best practices and useful information on the performance and sustainability of packaging, greener logistics and supply chain engagement and ingredient sourcing practices.

The Packaging Evaluation Guide offers guidance on best and worst sustainable business practices tracked against key sustainability criteria for beauty packaging and includes a glossary of packaging-related concepts as well as a handy guide to what to consider during each key supply chain phase.

The Sustainability Packaging Standards & Certifications Library navigates and informs companies of the latest standards and certifications released by non-profit and for-profit organizations, according to their needs and priorities and The Packaging Mapping database designed to illustrate and assess the impact of various types of plastic used across the industry.

There is also a Greener Logistics Guide  – a checklist to help companies and suppliers monitor, track and improve the environmental impact of their operations.

In addition, the outcomes of the coalition’s Ingredient Sourcing working group will soon be published.
