Eco bathing and skincare brand Cosy Cottage Soap has teamed up with Whitby Sea Salt to produce a natural hand and body scrub using sea salt crystals from the North Yorkshire coast.

The brand says that the mineral-rich, exfoliating sea salt detoxes skin, restores natural pH balance, promotes new skin growth and speeds up the healing process. It is used within the Sea Salt Hand & Body Scrub along with shea butter to produce ‘an unbeatable skin conditioner’ suitable for all skin types.

Fragranced with a blend of plant-based essential oils, the scrub is handmade in small, waste-free batches by the Malton-based Cosy Cottage Soap team and is free from palm oil, artificial additives and preservatives. The conditioning scrub is packaged in a 120ml plastic-free, recyclable jar.

“With a natural and gentle formula, we have created an invigorating scrub to exfoliate skin, help with better absorption of moisturizer as well as improve circulation,” Cosy Cottage Soap’s owner, Clara Challoner Walker, says. “In our product trials, our testers suffering with eczema and psoriasis found the scrub to be particularly beneficial.

“As we continue to work with like-minded local sustainable businesses, our collaboration with Whitby Sea Salt underlines our commitment to ‘stay local’ and manufacture all-natural products using high-quality locally sourced ingredients.”

Adds Archie, founder of Whitby Sea Salt adds that Cosy Cottage knows the value of using high quality ingredients throughout its skincare range and that the scrub has been produced with minimum impact to the planet and with low carbon mileage.
