The port town of Dover in Kent is the latest site of Holland & Barrett’s (H&B) store renovation programme, where the local branch has been relocated from the original, smaller site on Biggin Street to a larger, newly-refurbished premises within St James’ Retail and Leisure Park.

This latest opening is part of a series of rollouts from the health and wellness chain, which includes new stores and refurbishments in Angel Islington, Chelmsford, Coventry Hemel Hempstead and Knightsbridge, all opened since December 2020.

The expansion of the Dover store (now sitting at 1,378 sq ft) sees the creation of two new jobs; the new recruits will work towards joining the store’s existing bank of ‘Qualified to Advise’ staff members, each of whom hold the equivalent of an A Level in nutrition.

Two dedicated Click & Collect areas represent the popularity of hybrid shopping, allowing customers to choose between an online or in-store retail experience.

As with H&B’s other recent openings, the design centres around sustainability and reduced energy consumption, with carbon emission-cutting light fittings and 100% recycled materials.

Dover store manager Laura Godfrey, comments: “We’re so pleased to be opening the doors of our brand-new store here in Dover today. It’s fantastic for us to be moving to our new premises at St James’ and I can’t wait to start welcoming customers and showing them some of the great products we have to offer.

“As a team we are incredibly proud of the new store. It offers our customers a wider range of supplements, clean and conscious beauty and sports nutrition. We have a team of trained experts who will be on hand to advise both the local community and those coming into Dover from further afield on their needs, and to recommend products that will be right for them.”
