The Home Prescriber self-help guide to homeopathy

Weleda has announced it is distributing a new book for retailers who sell homeopathic remedies: The Home Prescriber by Marcus Fernandez RSHom FSHom.

The handy A5-sized book is a useful reference for retailers to keep behind the counter to help with customer queries about specific remedies, which often don’t have indications on pack.

The principal of the Centre of Homeopathic Education, Fernandez has been practicing and prescribing homeopathy for the past 26 years and the book has distilled this experience into a practical self-help guide.

“The intention of the home prescriber is to be a well-used, dog-eared guide kept in the kitchen ready to be on hand when needed,” says Fernandez. “Make notes in it, scribble in it when you find the remedy that worked for that earache or food poisoning. Over the generations we seem to have lost the connection with our grandmother’s wisdom of how to deal with the day-to-day illnesses or accidents that occur. This is a guide that will help you in using homeopathic remedies in the home. Homeopathy is safe, effective, easy to learn, and a wonderful way to take charge of your own health and the health of your loved ones.”

The Home Prescriber includes an introduction to homeopathy as well as the three main principles of home prescribing, including FAQs. There is also a symptom finder including suggestions for remedies for many common conditions – from bumps and bruises or cuts and grazes through to athlete’s foot, cold sores, cystitis or hay fever.

The guide answers many frequently asked questions about homeopathy including how to take the medicines, whether to take more than one remedy at the same time, and the recommended dosage. The Resources section at the end includes courses for beginners, useful websites to find a local homeopath for more complex situations, and homeopathic suppliers such as Weleda.

Published by Healthy Living Publishing, and printed on 100% recycled paper, the guide is available from [email protected].
