Beauty Kitchen’s latest launch is a line of 100% plastic-free haircare bars created to encourage a change in consumer mindset to one that champions reuse.

The ‘small but mighty’ bars – three Shampoo Bars and one Conditioner Bar – are suitable for all hair types and last for up to 70 washes, with each Shampoo Bar saving two single use plastic bottles and each Conditioner Bar saving three, according to the brand.

The Beauty Kitchen haircare bar line comprises:

  • Deep Cleanse Shampoo Bar – a concentrated bar of coconut, peppermint, orange and spearmint to deep cleanse and condition hair and scalp
  • Daily Shine Shampoo Bar – packed full of natural ingredients to instantly boost dull tresses, this bar gently cleanses away impurities and imparts shine
  • Intense Moisture Shampoo Bar – containing a blend of coconut and cocoa to lock in moisture and colour while protecting hair from heat styling, humidity and pollution damage
  • Everyday Gentle Conditioner Bar – this gentle conditioner naturally nourishes while protecting colour and reducing breakage without weighing hair down.

Commenting on the launch, Beauty Kitchen co-founder Jo Chidley, says: “95% of beauty packaging is discarded, yet only 9% of plastic globally is recycled so we need to provide truly sustainable products from the inside out and make them an easy and accessible choice for customers. Businesses have a responsibility to meet this desire and offer truly accessible sustainable consumables and packaging with zero or positive carbon footprints. Which is why I am incredibly excited about the launch of our 100% plastic free hair care bars.”

The products are palm oil- and microplastic-free, vegan certified and cruelty-free with packaging made from FSC certified material that is 100% compostable.
