Brunel set to make push into OTC sector

NutraHealth Plc, owner of Brunel Healthcare and BioCare, has acquired OTC specialist Max Healthcare Ltd.

Max Healthcare owns a range of marketing authorisations and provides own label and branded OTC medicines and products to a broad range of customers.

Max Healthcare will be a subsidiary of NutraHealth Plc and will be managed in parallel with Brunel Healthcare Manufacturing Ltd by Brunel’s managing director John Hackett. Richard Fielding and Kevin Nicholls, the founding directors of Max, will continue to run the business and bring a wealth of relevant OTC experience with them.

Max Healthcare is predominantly an outsourced operation with most of its manufacturing taking place in India. Brunel will continue to focus on food supplement manufacture at its MHRA-approved UK facility in Swadlincote, Derbyshire for the long term.

James McEuen, chief executive of NutraHealth Plc commented: “It is our ambition to extend Brunel’s excellent service in VMS manufacture and supply into the OTC sector, and we are hugely excited by the wealth of new and dynamic opportunities our acquisition of Max Healthcare Ltd enables us to offer our growing global customer base.”
