Karen Fewster joins Fuel PR as regulatory affairs head

Karen Fewster has joined Fuel PR as director of regulatory affairs. Fewster will provide expertise and advice to all of Fuel’s clients, especially those working in the fields of health, wellbeing, nutrition, haircare, cosmetics and beauty.

After graduating from the University of Surrey, with a BSc. Hons. in Microbiology and an MSc. in Nutritional Medicine, Karen has spent 20 years in the nutritional health and supplements industry.

Her ‘apprenticeship’ in all things regulatory at the Health Food Manufacturers Association (HFMA), plus her experience and knowledge in technical aspects of food ingredients and nutrition led to her becoming Product Director at Higher Nature where she was actively involved in developing innovative products in health, wellbeing, nutrition, haircare, cosmetics and beauty.

Karen’s detailed knowledge of food regulations (technical, quality, labelling and health claims) ensures that marketing copy (on and off pack) can have maximum impact, while remaining legal and truthful.

Managing director of Fuel PR Gillian Waddell says: “We are increasingly being asked by clients to offer advice on technical aspects of bringing products to market, whether nationally here in the UK or on behalf of international clients. Karen’s arrival is hugely welcome and we are delighted to offer her regulatory expertise to clients as part of our integrated service.”
