Brave veggies avoid the chop!

Two customers show there is more than ‘meats’ the eye in this butcher’s shop as they celebrate National Vegetarian Week.

Tucking into their oriental vegetable kebabs, Graham Drummond and Tom Gibson from the Vegetarian Society are proving that being a vegetarian does not just mean gnawing on carrot sticks and other uninspiring foods.

The meal was created as part of  National Vegetarian Week (24 – 30 May), hosted by the Vegetarian Society and sponsored by Cauldron. The owner of Saddeworth butchers Paul’s Quality Meats obligingly waved a cleaver menacingly for extra theatrical effect. “He was a good sport,” agreed Graham and Tom.
