H&B emerging talent recognized at Retail Week Awards

Emerging retail talent at Holland & Barrett was recognised at the Retail Week Rising Stars Awards last month, as the health food retailer celebrated two wins at one of the most anticipated events in the retail calendar.

IT or Technology Individual of the Year was awarded to assistant project manager, Andrew Boland, while social media customer service advisor, Trevor Price won Customer Service Individual of the Year.

As well as the two wins, Adham Taman and Shaun Galletly also reached the finals in the Area Manager of the Year and Merchandiser Individual of the Year categories respectively.

The awards were held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Park Lane and hosted by Robot Wars TV presenter Angela Scanlon. Former Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis attended the event, which is sponsored by his retail business group, which includes the retail chains Boux Avenue, Ryman and Robert Dyas.

Judges commented on Trevor Price’s unique ability to engage with customers across Holland & Barrett’s social media accounts. They said this led to a ‘truly positive’ impact on Holland & Barrett International, describing him as the ‘new face of customer service’.

Holland & Barrett International chief executive officer Peter Aldis said: “I am delighted to see some of our most promising emerging talent recognised at these prestigious awards. Trevor, Andrew, Adham and Shaun have all been honoured not only for their fantastic individual skills, but for their roles in helping our business bring the highest standard of health and wellbeing to consumers across our UK, and increasingly international markets.

“Retail is often overlooked, but it is a fantastic industry where young talent can make a real difference to the company they work for and enjoy an exciting and prosperous career.”
